Taiwan First Bullet-Resistant Tire! Changhua Design Expo Features Robotics and Drones
The Taiwan Design Expo in Changhua County will be open from the 10th to the 26th. Among the venues, the Changhua International Exhibition Center in Tianzhong Township features the theme “Champion’s Way,” showcasing Changhua’s many hidden champions across various industries. Exhibits include Kenda’s airless honeycomb tire—“It can be used in national defense; even if the tire is hit by a bullet, it can still keep going”—as well as the aura brand, which aims to connect more hotels and tourist spots to promote green cycling services, reflecting the future trend of low-carbon transportation.
The Taiwan Design Expo hosts different thematic zones across Changhua, Lukang, Tianwei, and Tianzhong, each with its own features. Tianzhong’s “Champion’s Way” zone highlights numerous hidden champions from Changhua, including traditional sock weaving, tires, water hardware, and trending technologies such as robotic arms and drones. There are also agricultural wastewater and waste recycling systems. The October long weekend has already attracted visitors from all over Taiwan.
Kenda Tire president Yang Yin-ming said that at the Expo, Kenda is also showcasing its airless honeycomb tire—the first of its kind developed by Taiwan’s industry and the first commercially available airless tire in Asia. When former President Tsai Ing-wen visited and saw the tire, which has no inner tube, she remarked that “it could be used in national defense,” because the tire can keep operating even if struck by bullets. The product is currently exported to the United States for use in lawn mowers.
Local Changhua companies Kaizhi Green Energy and Sustainable Intelligence Technology have also partnered to promote green cycling services. In addition to helping design bike models and service platforms for Changhua MOOVO, Sustainable Intelligence Technology general manager Chen Lili said that under their aura brand, they have recently strengthened collaborations with hotels and guesthouses to provide bicycle rental services. This enables low-carbon transportation in tourist destinations and can also support local revitalization by promoting shared green resources.

建大輪胎公司總裁楊銀明說，建大也在設計展展出免充氣的蜂巢式輪胎，是台灣業界首創，亞洲第一款可市售免充氣輪胎，先前前總統蔡英文來參觀時，看到這款沒有內胎的輪胎時就說「可以用在國防工業哦」，因為即使輪胎被子彈打到還可以走，目前外銷美國用於割草機。
彰化在地企業凱智綠能與永續智能科技也合作推「綠色騎行服務」，除了幫彰化MOOVO設計車款及服務平台，永續智能科技公司總經理陳瑮莉說，他們推出aura品牌最近加強與飯店和民宿業者合作，提供自行車租賃服務，讓低碳交通運用於觀光景點，也能結合在地創生，推動綠色共享資源。
