Features Battery Swapping Like Gogoro! New 125-Class Electric Scooter Stands Out with Large Smart Display

2019 / 08 / 05
Electric scooters are steadily replacing traditional gas-powered scooters—and Taiwan is no exception. In addition to existing EV brands, a new model is set to be unveiled, operating under the e-scooter ecosystem developed by Taiwanese company OKGO. This upcoming electric scooter delivers performance comparable to a 125cc scooter and comes equipped with a standard 7-inch smart dashboard. The large display improves readability of driving information and features automatic brightness adjustment.
It is also the only model in its class to include a rear-approaching vehicle speed warning system. Utilizing a BSD radar interface with millimeter-wave detection, the scooter emits an alert sound when a vehicle rapidly approaches from behind, giving riders a timely warning to prevent potential collisions.
The system supports Miracast, allowing seamless integration with the rider’s mobile app. Through the app, users can check parking status, battery levels, and more, maintaining real-time awareness of their vehicle. Additionally, smartphone navigation can be projected directly to the scooter’s display to assist riders in reaching their destinations.
In terms of performance, the scooter can reach a top speed of 95 to 100 km/h. Under a 30 km/h cruising speed with a 60 kg rider, the maximum range can reach up to 100 km. The model is expected to be released in Taiwan in 2020, though its official name is yet to be announced.
More than just a vehicle, this scooter is part of a broader e-scooter operation system developed by OKGO. With backend fleet management capabilities, the system can be deployed across various environments, enabling businesses to reduce infrastructure costs associated with EV deployment.
Through the integration and development led by a Taiwanese team, OKGO has created a comprehensive electric scooter solution. Coupled with IoT applications, the system gathers valuable data on battery swaps and vehicle usage, providing operators with insights for analytics and fleet management. While initially launching in Taiwan, the platform also holds potential for expansion into Southeast Asian markets such as the Philippines and Thailand.
