OKGO Smart E-Bike crams the tech into a carbon fiber package

Taiwanese tech company OKGO unveiled its carbon-framed Smart E-Bike prototype at the Taipei Cycle Show, showcasing a futuristic, tech-forward design clearly aimed at urban mobility. Unlike traditional e-bikes that strive to remain discreet, OKGO embraces bold innovation with an array of integrated smart features.

The Smart E-Bike includes a voice-activated display, fingerprint unlocking, and rear-approaching vehicle alerts powered by a seatpost-integrated radar. These alerts are conveyed through both on-screen icons and haptic feedback in the handlebar grips. The handlebar itself houses a central headlight, front-facing turn signals, and road-projected turn symbols, enhancing visibility and safety for urban riders.

Equipped with 4G connectivity, the bike supports over-the-air firmware updates, remote access control, and real-time fleet monitoring, making it particularly attractive for shared mobility and enterprise applications.

From a mechanical standpoint, the prototype features a Kindshock rear suspension, mechanical disc brakes, a rear hub motor, and a down-tube-integrated battery. It uses a standard chain-drive derailleur system and lacks a front suspension, suggesting its design prioritizes urban efficiency and smart technology over rugged off-road capabilities.

Importantly, OKGO emphasizes that this Smart E-Bike is not currently intended for direct-to-consumer sales. Instead, the company is targeting B2B partnerships, offering its integrated IoT systems and smart modules to bike brands, mobility operators, and city planners. As such, no consumer pricing or release date has been announced.

With its mix of connectivity, safety tech, and fleet-ready infrastructure, OKGO’s Smart E-Bike represents a strong push toward next-generation micromobility, combining advanced software, urban-focused design, and modular integration into one forward-looking platform.
